With a floorspace of 529,000 square metres, Messe Frankfurt operates one of the largest exhibition grounds in the world. Its visitors want to move quickly, reliably and safely from exhibition halls to conference centres and from one hall level to the next: More than 300 escalators and moving walkways as well as around 200 elevators are operated and further developed by the company's own facility management. Recently, the lift and escalator managers at Messe Frankfurt have been testing an innovation for hygiene on escalator handrails. It is based on ultraviolet UV-C light.
