„Elevate your knowledge": Online panels in the summer set the mood for E2 Forum Frankfurt

4 Jul 2022

With new topics, discussed in two online panels, the E2 Forum will freshen up the summer heat in July and September and set the mood for the event in Frankfurt am Main: topics such as IoT and data platforms, predictive maintenance and Environmental Social Governance (ESG) are planned for the exchange of experts from the real estate and elevator industry – an offer especially for decision-makers in facility management, the real estate and housing sectors as well as in building planning. Registration for both online discussion formats is free of charge on the internet. The E2 Forum conference in late September will then deal with all aspects of equipping and retrofitting buildings with means of mobility, taking into account the changing overall economic conditions.

The retrofit and upgrade of existing buildings is one of the challenges in real estate development as well as in the housing sector in particular: Roughly three quarters of the buildings in Germany are above 44 years of age, and the requirements for barrier-free mobility in multi-storey buildings are anything but trivial.

Expertise for vertical-horizontal mobility – this is what exhibitors and conference speakers bring together at the E2 Forum Frankfurt. Prior to this, in the summer two online panels will prepare decision-makers from industry, the real estate sector and building management for the topic highlights. E2 Forum experts on maintenance, retrofitting, upgrading in existing structures

How can the retrofitting, maintenance and development of elevators in existing buildings be managed in a future-proof and cost-efficient way using the means of advanced, integrated building technology and taking into account the requirements of Environmental Social Governance (ESG)? These are the issues addressed by the E2 Forum conference programme on 21 and 22 September 2022 – the innovation forum for elevator and escalator technologies in Frankfurt am Main. Under the heading "Innovation, digitalisation and sustainability – chances for buildings of today and tomorrow", around 50 experts will be present in lectures and panel discussions as well as Q&A sessions for the conference participants.

In terms of topics, the conference content is structured into nine focal points: In addition to "The Elevator in Building Planning", "Integrating Elevators in Modern Buildings", "Data Interfaces to the Building", "From Maintenance to Testing" and "Elevators and Escalators in the Urbanisation Process" as well as "Constructing and Renovation of Existing Buildings", the conference focuses on "Cybersecurity" and "Digital Infrastructure – Challenges and Solutions". This involves questions and requirements on the topic of sustainability and ESG, which are addressed in the focus on "Urbanisation, Smart City, Sustainability".

In the main focus "Constructing and Renovation of Existing Buildings" (Wednesday, 21 September), lectures on these subjects have already been scheduled: "Modular building – elevator with prefabricated shaft" (Klaus Dahlfeld, Otis), "Modern hydraulic drives – modernising instead of replacing" (Heiko Nagorski, Bucher Hydraulics) and "Campus Solutions" (Adrian Gollasch, Telegärtner Elektronik). The challenges and solutions posed by digital infrastructures will be addressed by these experts, among others, with their contributions: "Digital mobility solutions in practice – connectivity for the future" (Jürgen Blank, Schindler), "Secure data communication of lift systems in digital networks" (Ralf Balzerowski, NetCom Sicherheitstechnik), "VAO: Digital lift management at Germany's largest lift operator" (Dr. Michael Geisinger, Vonovia) and "Bosch Elevator Cloud – status quo and outlook" (Michael Bär, Bosch Service Solutions).

Conference "pre-glow" with E2 experts: online panels in summer

In more than 50 lectures and discussion formats, visitors to the E2 Forum 2022 can share current expert findings and future scenarios for vertical-horizontal mobility in buildings. In advance, however, the E2 Forum will provide first insights into the current challenges and approaches to solutions from industry and building technology applications in July and at the beginning of September.

Online panel "Requirements from the customer's perspective on IoT and databases": In July 2022, decision-makers from major operators such as Vonovia and Deutsche Bahn Station & Service will share their expectations from the operator's perspective and discuss further technological progress with experts from the Elevator & Escalator (E2) industry.

Online Panel "Elevator Operation and Maintenance: Opportunities of Predictive Maintenance": The experts on the online podium at beginning of September 2022 will be discussing the opportunities for predictive maintenance and the chances for increased energy and cost efficiency.

Both panels will be held from 08:00 until 09:00 in the morning. They form part of the Building Technology Experts digital event series, which Messe Frankfurt is organising on behalf of its Expertise in Building Technologies portfolio in close cooperation with the innovative real estate industry ecosystem BUILTWORLD. Participation in the online panels is free of charge - registration is at: www.builtworld.com.

E2 Forum Frankfurt: place for future dialogue for vertical-horizontal mobility

Expertise for the ecosystem of mobility in buildings – this is what the exhibitors and conference experts at the E2 Forum Frankfurt offer. And this is also what the unique concept stands for: the innovation forum for elevator and escalator technology combines conference attendance, cross-sector networking and an innovative range of products and services from renowned manufacturers as well as successful start-ups. All this bundled under one roof at the Congress Center of Messe Frankfurt (CMF). Cooperation partner of the organiser Messe Frankfurt within the framework of the E2 Forum Frankfurt and in charge of planning the conference is the Trade Association Elevators and Escalators within VDMA. The VDMA trade association represents a good 90 percent of the German lift and escalator market.

The conference programme will be published on the internet at www.e2forum.com. It also includes for all conference attendees the participation in the Networking Dinner on the evening of the first day (Wednesday, 21 September) as well as the visit to the exhibition on both conference days. Tickets are available in the online ticket shop: Attendees may profit by an early bird ticket fee of 400 euros upon registration until 31 July 2022. Tickets purchased from 1 August 2022 on will cost 450 euros. Messe Frankfurt communicates the exhibiting companies in E2 Forum’s social network channel on LinkedIn.

E2 events for the building services industry

The vertical-horizontal mobility of people and goods in urban infrastructures requires intelligent and connected building systems technology. Messe Frankfurt brings together all relevant players who are looking for or offering market-ready solutions to these challenges and has, thus, created a network of experts that is unrivalled anywhere in the world: Building Technologies. In this sector, Messe Frankfurt organises a total of 24 trade fairs on three continents, including the two leading trade fair brands in the sector worldwide: Light + Building and ISH. Accordingly, the trade fair organiser is expanding its marketing platforms and conferences around the globe. Today, Messe Frankfurt is represented with five events for lifts and escalators in America, Asia and Europe: With the International Elevator and Escalator (IEE) Expo in the metropolis of Mumbai, Messe Frankfurt provides the platform for the growing Indian market. The E2 Forums in Buenos Aires (Argentina), Frankfurt am Main (Germany), Milan (Italy) and in India's capital New Delhi round off the portfolio as innovation forums for cross-sector dialogue between the industry and operators in the real estate sector, planning and building technologies.

The E2 Forum Frankfurt will take place on 21 and 22 September 2022 (Wednesday and Thursday) at the Congress Center of Messe Frankfurt (CMF).
